Google not digging any more for Digg

Negotiations between digg and Google have ended and Google has walked away from the rumored $200 million deal, according to Techcrunch. Sometime this week Google decided not to purchase Digg.
Off late Google has been experimenting with digg like features in their search.
The future of search does seem to be a Digg like model. It is very much an extension to Google’s Page ranking method where quality of pages are determined by sites that refer to it. Here the page rank will get affected by viewer opinions and votes about relevance as well.
Also rumored is that Digg has hired Allen & Co. to help them raise more money now that the sale negotiations are over.
