Palm, Inc. today revealed that it has sold it’s two-millionth Centro smartphone, claiming that the $99 product’s is gaining momentum with traditional mobile phone users who want to move up to a phone that offers more functionality. Palm is now offering Centro in more than 25 countries in North America, South America, Europe and Asia Pacific.

Palm also showed strong growth among smartphone manufacturers, ranking No. 2 in the United States in mobile advertising reach, and No. 3 worldwide.

The phone in reality costs $99 only with a 2 year contract with the carrier. For those who want to go with their existing plan’s the phone costs $349.

Centro is serving Palm well and keeping it afloat while it is quietly working on it’s iphone competitor. We can only hope that it is nothing like the Foleo (below) which received quite a few chuckles when it was unveiled.
