Blackberry Partners Fund opens up Developer Challenge

We had previosuly covered the launch of the Blackberry partners fund, a $150 million fund with investments from Research In Motion, the RBC and Thomson Reuters aimed at supporting developers of applications running primarily on RIM’s Blackberry phones.
The fund website recently went live and now the fund has announced the developer challenge for BlackBerry® Developers and is accepting submissions for the following categories
- Most Innovative Game
- Most Innovative Multimedia Application
- Most Innovative Personal Productivity and Lifestyle Application
- Most Innovative Enterprise Application
- Most Innovative Web Application
So what’s the prize money like?
Best of Show Grand Prizes
Two (2) $150,000 Investment Opportunities by the BlackBerry Partners Fund™. These investment awards will be in the form of a convertible debenture. There will be additional terms and conditions with respect to the investments with which the winners must agree to prior to the issuance of this debenture.
Personal Productivity and Lifestyle
2nd Prize: $2,500 cash, Spotlight/Placement Opportunity, a RIM device package
3rd Prize: $1,000 cash, Spotlight/Placement Opportunity, a RIM device package
Judging Criteria: Compelling UI (50%), Device Integration (25%), Integration with Online Services (25%)
Multimedia
