Tivo and Netflix join forces

Tivo and Netflix have linked up a deal to provide netflix movies on TV’s through the Tivo DVR’s. Netflix and TiVo® Series3, TiVo HD, and TiVo HD XL subscribers will now be able to stream movies and TV episodes instantly from Netflix directly to their TV sets.
“Joining forces with Netflix creates the ultimate video on demand service and solidifies TiVo’s leading position as the one-box solution for aggregating, searching, and delivering the best content available anywhere right to the TV,” said Tom Rogers, president and CEO of TiVo Inc. “Adding Netflix to our already vast library of content differentiates TiVo even further from any other offering in the market today.”
The partnership is a step forward for folks who are subscribed to both Netflix and Tivo services, who will no longer need to have movies shipped to their homes, well almost. The Netflix streaming collection is growing steadily but does not yet have all the programming that one may want to watch. However, this is the future in movies watching at home Netflix is clearly positioned to reap the benefits.
If you do not Tivo but are a Netflix subscriber, all is not lost. There’s other options to watch Netflix streaming on your big screen TV. Netflix has been busy this year building key partnership’s for it’s streaming service with Microsoft, LG and Roku labs.
