Tiny URL: http://tinyurl.com/6rmt58Sun was found battling a new kind of virus at their JavaOne conference in San Francisco. The JavaOne conference took place May 6th to May 9th with 137 exhibitors. Started in 1996, JavaOne is one of the top tech events of the year at Moscone Center, San Francisco along with Apple’s Macworld Expo and Oracle’s OpenWorld.
Unlike the software form of the virus - the one Sun is accustomed to dealing with, a virus of a biological nature invaded the conference and sickened 67 staff members and 3 visitors. The virus is called norovirus and spreads from dirty surfaces and environment. This virus can cause nausea, vomiting and diarrehea .and lasts 1-2 days.
On Sun’s part, the company alerted attendees by email about the virus and the facility was cleaned and disinfected by Friday afternoon.
