E*Trade Mobile Pro on BlackBerry

E*Trade spokeperson Pam Erickson announced that E*Trade is introducing a free software download for BlackBerry phones. The software called E*Trade Mobile Pro, still in beta, will be available starting Thursday and will allow users to set up portfolios, get real time quotes, trade stocks, make online transfers and get stock related news. The software download would make going to tiny mobile browser and logging on the E*trade website, a thing of the past.
Allaying concerns over security of mobile users, E*Trade confirmed that it will fully cover any losses under its fraud protection scheme, in case the phone is stolen or ends up in the wrong hands. The application will be password protected and will logout after 5 minutes of inactivity.
E-Trade went with the BlackBerry for its first application because it’s the most popular smart phone system used among the brokerage’s customers, Erickson said.
