For the month of May, Google, Yahoo and Ask reported a green while Microsoft slipped further in red. Google search queries grew to 61.8 percent compared to 61.6 percentage for the month of May, according to search Internet monitoring research firm comScore.
Numbers for May:
- Search Queries went up by 2 percent to 10.77 billion for the month of May
- Google search queries up by 0.2 percent to 6.66 billion
- Yahoo’s share of search queries up by 3 percent to 2.22 billion
- Microsoft’s share of search queries shrunk by 4 percent to 920 million
- AOL’s share of search queries shrunk by 1 percent to 486 million
Why IT matters?
- Search advertising accounts for 41 percent of online advertising
- Microsoft’s multiple attempts to keep itself visible in online search market (including its attempt to acquire Yahoo) seems to have no impact on Google’s growth
