Firefox 3 sets a World Record

The most safe internet browser is now the most downloaded software ever for a 24-hour period, setting a world record in the process. Mozilla’s open source browser Firefox earned the credit with 8,002,530 downloads from 18:16 UTC on June 17, 2008 to 18:16 UTC on June 18, 2008, dubbed as the “Download Day”.
According to the Download Day Site - Ever since Firefox was launched in 2004 we’ve relied on our community to help us spread the word, and thanks to projects including crop circles, newspaper ads, giant stickers, videos, blogs and more we now have over 180 million users in more than 230 countries.
Current count of number of Firefox 3 downloads stands at 28,568,987.
