Obama widens lead in polls after overseas trip
Tiny URL: http://tinyurl.com/6b4rxhBarack Obama leads John McCain by 49% to 40% in Gallup Poll daily tracking for the 2008 Presidential elections. This is right after Obama’s overseas trip to middle-east and Europe and his acclaimed Berlin speech. The margin, coincident with the extensive U.S. news coverage of Obama’s foreign tour, is the largest for Obama over McCain measured since Gallup began tracking the general election race in March.
Before Obama’s trip, he held an insignificant two point lead over his rival which amounts to a statistical tie. The poll numbers remained largely unchanged on the first few days of the week when Obama was visiting Kuwait, Iraq, Afghanistan, Jordan and Israel.
However, as evident from the chart on Gallup, his lead started improving when he visited France and Germany and now, when Obama is back home focusing on the economy, he lead in polls is better than ever.
