Register to Vote via Xbox Live

Twelve million strong Xbox Live user base has a new choice in fight - the fight for the President of United States in 2008. Your voting initiative Rock the Vote has announced a partnership with Microsoft to bring the political battle to Xbox Live. The objective of the partnership is to register two million under-30 voters in time for the elections in November.

Starting on Monday, the first day of Democratic National Convention, Xbox Live provides gamer option to register to vote, participate in election-related polls and post their opinions in an election forum via their Xbox 360. Rock the Vote would also bring their public service announcemnt videos to Xbox Live users.

Heather Smith, Rock the Vote’s executive director, said - “We need to go where young Americans are, and there’s no doubt in our minds that many are on Xbox 360 and Xbox LIVE.” about the project.

Rock the Vote also launched a partnership with MySpace last month that encourages fans of music bands registered at MySpace, to register to vote.
