RNC Day 1: No Extravaganza

John McCain and Republican National Committee decided to keep the Republican National Convention in St. Paul, Minn., a low key event until the effects of Hurricane Gustav becomes clearer. With that as backdrop, Republican National Convention opened on Monday afternoon with very little fanfare and major speeches curtailed including the Speech from President George W. Bush.
However, First Lady Laura bush surprised the convention when she appeared with John McCain’s wife Cindy McCain to close the session and made an appeal to the public to support Hurricane affected areas.
