John McCain has 163 Votes (158 Strong, 5 Lean) with 55 Votes still up for grab in states like Nevada (48.0 Obama, 47.7 McCain), Missouri (49.1 McCain, 46.3 Obama),
In last few days, RealClearPolitics has moved New Jersey, New Hampshire, Minnesota and Pennsylvania to Solid Obama while Virginia and West Virginia are also moving in Obama’s favor. Even Georgia has been moved from Solid McCain to Leaning McCain indicating Obama’s expanding map. Despite RCP’s conservative efforts (keeping Florida as Toss Up), Obama comfortably has 277 Elecoral Votes.
The geekier poll monitoring site FiveThirtyEight.com gives different weights to different Polls depending on how the Polls have performed in the past. FTE projects 347.6 Electoral Votes for Obama and 190.4 (they even have decimal points in EV). Obama’s win probability is set at 90.7% and McCain’s 9.7%.
In short, Obama is winning and probably winning big. And the only option left for McCain is going vehemently negative. God bless him.
