Google Introduces Video Chat in Gmail
Tiny URL: http://tinyurl.com/5s3apcKeeping true to the philosophy of making Web Browsers the next PC, Google has announced Video Chat option inside its email service - Gmail on Tuesday. This should give Yahoo and Microsoft run for their … money (if Yahoo still has any).

The new service called Gmail voide and video chat includes video streaming via your WebCam and voice chat via the microphone directly inside your Gmail after you have installed a tiny plugin from Gmail - Click Here to get it now. Current supported configurations include Firefox, IE7 and Chrome on PC and Firefox on Mac. No word on any support for Linux as of now. Installing the plugin takes you to Video Chat page in your Gmail that lets you configure your WebCam and microphone correctly.
Once you have installed the plugin, launch Gmail and within the Chat section of your Gmail, select the contact you want to call. If they have a camera icon next to their name, you can make a voice or video call to them; just click Video & more. You can also make your video full screen with one click.
It’s simple, easy to use and so far great quality.
So far Google’s chat application Google Talk does not seem to have this ability.
