Research in Motion has just announced the first Blackberry flip phone, the Blackberry Pearl Flip 8220. The 8220 smartphone will be available from wireless carriers around the world beginning this fall. In the US, the Pearl Flip will be available exclusively from T-Mobile beginning this fall.

Blackberry maker Research In Motion ( RIM ) reported earnings for first quarter of FY09. Revenue for the quarter was $2.24 billion, up 107% from $1.08 billion in the same quarter of last year.

Blackberry Partners Fund announced
It is rumored ( VentureBeat) that Research In Motion, the RBC and Thomson Reuters have invested in a $150 million venture investment fund, called the BlackBerry Partners Fund, to support developers of applications running primarily on RIM’s Blackberry phones.
